Andrew H. “Tony” Bass (w∴m∴ 2009-2010)
Andrew Harrell Bass, Jr. was born October 13, 1949 in Washington, D.C. His family moved to Tuskegee, Alabama, and then to Montclair, New Jersey, in 1956. He was educated in the public school system of that city, graduating from Montclair High School in 1967. After graduation, he attended Lincoln University in Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Physics, and did graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he received his Master of Science and Doctorate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. He is President and Chief Exexcutive Officer of HSI Networks in Houston.
Brother Bass is married, and has two daughters.
Brother Bass received the degrees of Freemasonry from Jacques DeMolay Lodge No. 1390 in Houston, Texas. He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason on April 15, 2004; passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on May 6, 2004; and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on February 3, 2005. He is currently serving as the fiftieth Worshipful Master of the Lodge.
Brother Bass is a member of the York Rite, Knight Masons, and the Shrine. He is a Past High Priest of Washington Chapter No. 2 Royal Arch Masons, a Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Houston Council No. 1 Royal and Select Masters, and is the Eminent Commander of Ruthven Commandery No. 2. He also serves as a driver for Arabia Temple.
Brother Bass is a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, having received the degrees from the Houston bodies in September 2005. He is a member on several degree teams including the Fifteenth, Sixteenth, Twenty-first, and Twenty-ninth. He is currently serving as Bearer of the Beauseant for Houston Council of Knights Kadosh. For his service and devotion to the Rite, he was invested with the rank and decoration of a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour in 2009.
