Milton Wilbur Wright was born on June 4, 1892 in Thomasville, Alabama. In 1916, he moved to Houston and joined the Southern Pacific Railroad as a yardman. After 43 years of continuous service, he retired in 1959 as the assistant yardmaster of the Englewood Terminal.

He was married, and had no children.

Brother Wright received the degrees in Freemasonry from Gray Lodge No. 329. He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason on December 9, 1919; passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on January 10, 1920; and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on March 29, 1920. He was a charter member of Jacques DeMolay Lodge, and served as its fourth Worshipful Master from 1962 to 1963.

Brother Wright was a member of the Chapter, Council and Commandery of the York Rite.

Brother Wright was also a member of Ransford Chapter No. 135, Order of the Eastern Star, of which he was a Past Patron.

Brother Wright was a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He received his Lodge and Chapter degrees from the Houston bodies in May 1920, and his Council and Consistory degrees from the Galveston bodies later that year.

Brother Wright passed away on January 28, 1969 at the age of seventy-six. He was laid to rest in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Masonic graveside services were performed under the auspices of Gray Lodge No. 329.
